Gleneagles Kings & Queens Courses - Central Scotland, Perthshire |
The King's Course at the Gleneagles Hotel is one of the best-known courses in Britain, largely because of the power of television. More tournaments and other golfing promotions have been televised from the King's than from any other course--with good reason. It is one of the most beautiful inland courses in the world. The King's is laid out on a wooded moorland plateau in Perthshire with the Queens Course following the same natural rolling terrain. The turf on both courses is crisp, the fairways wide and smooth, the hazards in the main clearly defined and both courses always immaculately groomed. There are banks of golden gorse and purple heather, stands of tall pines, and the views in all directions are superb - the Ochil Hills to the east and south, with the valley of Glendevon reaching through to Fife; to the north lie the Grampians, to the west the Trossachs. With a formidable array of challenges the Kings Course has the length, the Queens magnificently complimentary for a wonderful day in golf. Play both....win twice! We thoroughly recommend.

The PGA Centenary Course measures 7,088 yards from the back markers, 6558 from the whites, and the ladies at 5072 yards. The PGA begins by playing southeast towards the famed glen of the eagles sweeping up the Ochil Hills to the summit of the pass below Ben Shee. Again spectacular scenery of the central Scottish heartland make the PGA amongst the finest walks in golf. Beautifully presented with lush vegetation, strategically contoured fast running greens and exacting hazard design make the PGA a wonderful test of golf and one that the visitor will remember well beyond their day here.
